Freeroll tournaments are great if you are looking to build up a bankroll from a small amount, or if you are looking to start a new bankroll without having to make a new deposit. They are not easy to win, but at the end of the day, the ability to win free money to play with at the tables is a big attraction for many players.
But what freerolls are available at the Full Tilt Poker room?
Well, there are actually a number of different freerolls at Full Tilt that you can take advantage of. Here is a short list and description of the top freeroll tournaments at the Full Tilt Poker room.
This freeroll is part of the Iron-Man challenge, which challenges players to play at Full Tilt as many days as they can. If you can manage to accumulate just 1 point every day for a calendar month, you will be eligible to enter this tournament. Getting 1 point is easy enough, but it's being able to hit the tables every day that's the tricky part.
You can enter for the tournament from the 3rd of each month if you like to be prepared. But if you do not want to enter the tournament, you can trade your freeroll entry for 15 bonus Iron Man medals. Simply do not register and you will receive the Iron Man medals instead.
These aren't strictly freerolls, but then at the same time you do not have to pay anything to enter. With these points tournaments, you can enter by using your Full Tilt points as the entry fee. These freeroll tournaments usually range from different entries to satellite tournaments if you do well.
These freeroll tournament will not directly result in winning money by finishing highly, but there is always the potential to win big if you manage to win an entry into a bigger tournament and go on to place well in that also. So if you're lucky, you could expect a big payout from these points freerolls.
As I mentioned, these aren't necessarily freerolls due to the fact that you have to earn points by playing for real money at the room. Nonetheless, they are free tournaments that could result in you winning money at some point, so I would class them as freeroll tournaments in a way.
If you click on the "play money" tab at the top of the lobby and browse around the tournaments, you will find that there are a number of freeroll tournaments available.
Unfortunately these are normally restricted to certain players, and the prize pools are never that great. The few Full Tilt standard freerolls that are open to everyone usually have poor prizes such as tournament $ or Full Tilt points, and they fill up super quick so it's not easy to get in to them. In addition, the fields are huge so the chances of winning are always going to be very slim.
In my opinion, the standard Full Tilt freerolls are not a viable way of attempting to build a bankroll, and I wouldn't play in them too much unless you are looking for some free fun. I would stick with the special freerolls like the two above at Full Tilt if you are looking to develop (or add to) your bankroll.
If you want to enter a solid freeroll tournament at Full Tilt, aim for the One-A-Day freerolls.
Unfortunately Full Tilt is not the greatest room if you're looking for plenty of freerolls with real-money prizes, as you will normally have to make a deposit and play for real money anyway if you want to take advantage of any sort of freeroll at the room. I would stick to the standard Full Tilt tournaments if you can, as these freerolls are not great value for your time spent playing them.
Despite this, the Full Tilt freerolls are always there for you to take advantage of as a real money player, so have a browse around the lobby and see if anything takes your interest. After all, what can you lose?
